No job equals no spending

I haven't worked much this month due to job hunting and still coming up empty. Christmas wasn't any good and New Year might be even worse. I'm getting desperate for money now, so I might end up enlisting in the military. I don't care what anyone else says, I need money really bad and what they offer seems to better than what I earned this month. Benefits and paid college tuition are great bonuses as well. It's time that I start out on my own even if it costs me my own life. All I ever live up to now is abuse and torment, not spreading out happiness and hope to others.

Buying components for new PC build

Finals are over and I'm out of work, but now I'm going to build a new PC to replace my 5 year old HP. The only parts I have gotten so far are the case and PSU, but there are many more parts to buy along the way. Might as well go t my local Fry's Friday and see if there are any good deals coming out. Guess I'll have to be cheap from now on since I am out of work. Being a temp. worker isn't that great when your annual income is below $10k. I'm not even sure anyone is hiring in Georgia since there are so many job seekers working for just about any job as long as it is stable.

Studying for finals

Classes are over and I am going to study for my finals. I have only two finals but they are spread apart by about a week. Statistics is the much harder one due to writing out long answers to the problems. Management information systems is much easier but no multiple choice, just matching, short answer, and some diagrams. I'm not that concrete and factual when it comes to math and science. I can't wait when its over that I get back to work to make some money for buying computer components for my new PC.

Seasons greetings

With Black Friday over and Cyber Monday approaching, I can't help but wonder if people are going to be shopping for gifts or still be saving money. My parents have already bought a washer/dryer combo from Samsung for $1000 USD, which is $750 less than the original prices. As for me, I'm trying to save up some money for building my new computer. I still don't have the parts yet, but I'm browsing all over the Web for great bargains. eBay is a great auction site to get components at low prices, but you buy them as is unless they are completely new. People want to save money since jobs are disappearing constantly. Let's hope the holidays in December are much more promising.

Thanksgiving

Tomorrow will be Thanksgiving here in the U.S. and people will either be out traveling or shopping. I'm currently taking the latter as I have no interest in traveling. This year I'm shopping for PC components, as I'm going to build my own PC. Budget is limited around $1000 USD as I make less than $10K a year. Pretty sad when it does not even cover the bills and college tuition. I wanted to finish college so I can rework the way businesses are being run. With Obama as the new President, he is going to need all the help he can get to undo what Bush did to us during these last eight years. People want a brighter future, not a bleak future where the rich reigned supreme and everybody else suffers. Change is necessary, but it will be slow for these next four years.

Weak economy and deflation

With all of this talk about slashing prices and big discounts, you thought it would be a great deal. No one is buying anyway because the US economy is weakened. All it took was one person to cause all of this: the President of the United States. Our so called leader does not know how to care for his own people and the backlash he created has an impact on the world, triggering a worldwide recession. If you want your money being pumped in, then you got to have people willing to spend. Obviously, no one is spending for the upcoming holiday season. Instead, people will be spending their money online between other users so as to avoid taxes. You can get much better deals anyway than any retail store, but you get the item as is. Auction sites and classified ads like Craig's list seem to benefit from users like us as well. Deflation is like very low prices and huge discounts, but no one is buying at all. I might as well save my money for online shopping if there are great bargains at huge discounts.

core i7 released on stores today

Today is the day that the Core i7 processors and the x58 motherboards are being sold online and at retail stores. This is supposed to replace the Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors, but the initial price is way too expensive for many people. At the lowest price, an i7 processor and a x58 motherboard will set you back at least $550. I've only recommend these to people who are early adopters or just have a PC that is older than three years. Not all of the x58 motherboards are released yet. The rest will show up in December in time for Christmas shopping. With the economy in a slump, I suggest waiting for discount prices on the latest technology because people are holding on to their money. As for me, I'm waiting till December to see if prices drop then I might consider buying them.

Back to work Monday

Looks like I'm getting called back to work Monday, so I'll be back to making money for my Christmas shopping. I'm going to spend my money on building my new PC and give my 5 year old PC to my father. It's hard enough to find a steady job here in Georgia, and many of my co-workers need to find them to pay for their bills. If I was younger, I might consider joining the military because of their excellent benefits package at the risk of being killed on active duty. For now, I'm still seeking a job that requires system building PCs and troubleshooting.

Looking for work

It has come to my attention that people here in Georgia are looking for jobs while those who already have them keep them. I need to look for a steady job since being a temporary worker does not bring in much income. I make less that $10k a year, which is below poverty. I went to school and graduated with my Associate's degree in Business, but it still was not enough. People know that I do not speak much, but I have always been productive and never stray from my job. Everyone else just boast, lie, and talk while letting someone else do their work for them. It is time for a change of pace and I have to seek out employment.

Hard to make money again

It seems that making money is getting harder again. Even if Obama became President, it's not going to change the way I'm looking out for work. We'll just have to wait in January to see the first African-American President being sworn into office. As for me, I'm still doing my job as a temp. worker and it's still has its ups and downs. I updated my resume and got only one job offer and it was relevant to my studies, but it's in downtown Atlanta. Obviously, I need to pick up more skills and become more diverse because we are dealing with other countries. Just like the people in the Renaissance, college students need to broaden their skills and do what they need to land a good career. I did but it didn't do much due to being a minority. Discrimination is still a big issue and I'm not the only one. Life isn't fair when CEOs get huge bonuses even when the company is failing and they're spending company money on luxuries like hotels, shopping, renovations, and other nit nacks. Time for change is next year and must be for the better.

Going to buy parts for my new PC

I'm going to be upgrading my PC by giving my 5 year old rig to my father. With the upcoming release of Intel's Nehalem processors and X58 motherboards later this month, I've been dying for a new gaming PC. Unfortunately, work is getting harder to find and I have to pay my bills. It is necessary as my old PC cannot even play any recent PC game. Online gaming is getting more competitive and LAN parties are the rage. I wouldn't mind attending a LAN party just to see the latest gaming rigs. Wish there were some in Gwinnett County. Anyway, let's hope that I have enough money to spend when Christmas comes around and land a good job.

Playing two new games for handhelds

I've just played Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the DS and it is a traditional Castlevania game very much like Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin. However, you play as an emotionless woman named Shanoa. She is pretty good looking, but she seems amnesiac. Nevertheless, this game is quite fun if you like Symphony of the Night. The other game I haven't even started yet is Star Ocean: First Departure for the PSP. It is from the SNES version that was never brought to the US and it was Japan only. I'll get back to it once I finish Castlevania.

Absence of material

I was out for a long time due to work and college. Pretty busy with life these past few months and tragedies did occur along the way. Brother still doesn't know how tough it is to find a job and lucky enough to be permanent. As for anime watching, I'm currently watching Gundam 00 S2 which is pretty good and the first season will air on Sci-Fi in November. Adult Swim no longer has any anime, so I'll be watching Sci-Fi from now on.

Going back to college

I'm going back to college this Tuesday and summer break is finally over. Work is really hard to find in Georgia and the payout is much lower than average. Saving money is important and I can only buy what is necessary. No entertainment but only for computer upgrades. Let's hope that I'll get something for my monies' worth spent on higher education.

Just got my Logitech G9 mouse

I just got my Logitech G9 from UPS today and it is the most comfortable mouse I used so far. People can be nit picky about the details, but I found it is easy to customize with the grips and weights, plus SetPoint software seems to offer plenty of customization. I paid only $50 off eBay. It's $100 at retail price and I wouldn't pay that much for it! I'm just glad that this is the mouse I've been looking for since my hands are fairly large due to heavy lifting at work.

Pain from removing one wisdom tooth

The pain from removing one of my lower third molars is quite severe. Chewing is pretty hard and prone to infection. I'm just going to eat liquid foods that won't infect where my molar used to be. Tea seems to help ease the pain so I can relax a little bit. Two weeks later, I'll go again to pull out the last wisdom tooth.

Getting wisdom teeth pulled out

I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled out next Wednesday because they are already bad and the dentist suggests pulling all four out for $300, which isn't bad but eating food will be painful for a few days.

Studying for final exam

My final exam is on the last day of Spring Semester: May 6, 2008 from 2p.m.-4:30p.m..
It is just a 50 questions multiple choice exam, which is much easier compared to writing five-page essays for three hours straight. I haven't done anything to this blog in a while, so I'll keep updating whenever I have the chance. Now that the economy is struggling in the States, people cannot spend like they used to and have to cut back in order to get only the necessities. Don't blame them, blame our President for instigating a war we shouldn't be involved in the first place. Americans are so clueless that if Obama won the nomination, people would vote for McCain instead. Big mistake people, people already nicknamed him "McBush" and it does seem suitable. If you want America to have a booming economy, better off voting for a Democrat who knows how to deal with the leaders of the world.

Waiting for finals to come

Finals are approaching, but my last and only final exam is on May 6 from 2p.m. - 4:30p.m.. This time though, the final exam is on a scantron sheet with fifty multiple choice questions, so this will be a piece of cake. I really need to study since I bombed my last exam and this time I will have to study hard in advance. No more procrastination and goofing off.

Have just beaten Crisis Core

I have just beaten FFVII: Crisis Core yesterday and it did lead to a definitive ending.
Zack Fair's fate was very certain that he would die at the hands of the company he worked for, but he took all of them down fighting and mortally wounded. This also explains why Cloud Strife had a personality disorder. Instead of mako poisoning, it was mako addiction. Cloud was pretty much an invalid while Zack was unaffected due to being infused with mako when he was with SOLDIER. SOLDIER was already breaking up near the end of the game, but it should have been disbanded by the Shinra Corp.. The biggest shock of all was Genesis living and being young again at the end of Crisis Core. I was shocked that Sephiroth clones (or Angeal clones) dressed in SOLDIER uniforms taking Genesis away in a Shinra helicopter. Two members of the Turks really do care for Zack: Tseng and Cissnei. I don't know about Cissnei's fate as this wasn't explained in Crisis Core. Tseng still serves with the Turks throughout the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII". He was a nice person to Zack and they acted like friends.

Just got a new router

I just bought myself a new Linksys router which is WRT54G v8.2 after my Netgear Rangemax 240 kick the bucket just three days ago after four years. I flashed the router with DD-WRT and I get access to a slew of options. Unfortunately, my brother complained about it being sluggish on his laptop due to being use to higher speeds. It was pretty cheap compared to paying over $150 for my Netgear years ago. I'll go buy a wireless n router once the standard has been approved.

Love my PSP Slim with CFW

I just loved my PSP Slim with custom firmware 3.90 M33-2. It is quite portable and has more functions than my brother's DS Lite. Just goes to show you that Dark Alex knows how to hack into the PSP and turned it into something much more useful. I play with SNES and GBA roms, but it can do much more besides the usual PSP isos. PSX isos are slightly harder to get it to work on this system, but they are worth it. People really like to play video games on this multitasking handheld.

Will be getting a memory stick

I'll be getting a memory stick at Fry's later tonight. They usually have great deals and I'll buy one to use with my custom firmware PSP. This will be a great endeavor where I'll try homebrew programs for the first time. Dark Alex did an excellent job of supporting the homebrew community and opening up the PSP to new avenues.

Just bought myself a PSP

I just bought myself a PSP Slim with custom firmware on eBay, but the auction site removed most of the listings due to a strange reason. Luckily I bought it and it shipped out before the listing was closed. UPS will probably arrived at my doorstep Monday or Tuesday. The problem is that it does come with a memory stick, so I'll either have to buy it online or buy it at a brick & mortar store. I need suggestions on what kind of memory stick should I be buying and at what place.

Thinking about buying a desktop PC

I'm probably thinking about replacing my 4 year old desktop PC, but it s hard enough that I only make $10k a year and most of it has to be through bills and college tuition. I don't have many options left and it seems that inexperience and delays are the main obstacles to finishing college. My associate degree did not do much in getting jobs that require a degree, so I work at an employment agency as a temp. worker. Guess I'll have to wait till the end of year to build my new PC.

To buy or not to buy a PSP?

I was thinking today about whether or not to buy a PSP. My brother already has a DS Lite and it has been modded into to play DS, GBA, and homebrew applications. I know, many people are torn about whether or not to mod their PSPs. Many of the people I've met at college and at work don't have a clue about what modding is. There are numerous guides and websites that tell you how, yet I couldn't find a step-by-step guide on ho to mod a PSP properly. Everybody knows that UMD doesn't seem to work well, but the memory stick is invaluable. If I only have the cash, then I would mod the PSP. Sony doesn't realize that they can get more hardware sales that way, but software sales for their UMD discs would decrease drastically. As of now, I'm still undecided since I need a memory stick and a special battery called "Pandora" to mod into the PSP. This is going to cost more than I thought. I would like others' opinions on this matter.

Just got my first cell phone

I just got my first cell phone and this is the first time I have ever gotten one. It is very complicated to learn judging from the instructions in the manual, but I'll managed to get by somehow. The reason is that everybody I know of has a cell phone and now that college tends to have class cancellations sometimes, so I need one just in case of emergencies. I don't talk much so I go with the pay as you go plan. Of course, the serious drawback is that you have to put a certain money in the cell phone account every three months in order to be considered active. Even if it does have a balance, a certain amount of money has to be deposited in the account every 90 days. Virgin Mobile isn't so bad, as it is a sub-contractor under the Sprint Network. I'll use this phone only for emergencies and only as the need arises.

Just want to relax

I just want to relax at home and enjoy my quiet time. I do have to study for my Human Resource Management class, but I also want to play with my PS3. Maybe it is time to get a PSP, but I don't have enough money to even afford it due to missing out on work. Making money isn't as easy as it seems and due to a lack of experience, I'm left out on getting a good job anyway. As for the PSP, I'll probably have to mod it like my brother did with his DS Lite. People seem to like modding these days and many want to try out those old games that are swarming all over the Web.

No work for today

There wasn't any work today for my brother and I. What is strange is that there is still some work left, but I guess that those temp. workers screwed up the work so much that they were sent home. The job requires to scan health care forms and bundle them together in mailing bags so they can be ready to be shipped out by the U.S. Postal Service. It is really hard to make money in the real world and you are never guaranteed
that the work will be there. Might as well enjoy my time off until I can find some other way to make money.

Futurama: Bender's Big Score

I have just watched Futurama the movie and have to say it is quite funny. It has that nostalgic feel like a Futurama episode, but with a weird twist. The scammers are an interesting race of people that are similar to Zoidburg's people out of their shells.
Of course, the gang fell prey to spamming e-mail and various scams that require personal information. The main attraction is Bender of course, as he fell under the control of the scammers. Hilarious antics ensue for the gang and saving the world as well. In some ways, the Futurama movies mirrors the Simpsons movie. Futurama has its own charm with its chracters that only the show can create.

Another paid to post site: Sponsored Reviews

This site seems to be really interesting. It is quite different from Smorty, but the concept is the same. You actually get paid based on your posts and reviews, but there are more opportunities to choose from SponsoredReviews. First, you have to make a bid on the topic you want to review and if the price is right and accepted, then you can write your review. You get to choose what topic you want to write and post your review. You get 65% of the bid while SponsoredReviews gets the other 35%. Not a bad deal and you get to pick which topics to write. I would highly recommend this, but you have to be careful about your ranking as it can go down very fast if other sites found out that it is advertising for reviews.

Need suggestions

I need suggestions on how to spruce up this blog and generate traffic since it is a young blog. Anyone out there has opinions on how to improve the sites? I was thinking about adding pictures to my site since people want proof of certain things. I may need to introduce pictures to the site and publish reviews on what did I buy and use. It will be certainly challenging, but I think I can get through it. Those who share the same interests as me are greatly appreciated in contributing to the site, but anyone else is welcome as well.

Interested in reviewing blogs

In anyone has a blog that they are interested to be reviewed, I will certainly help them out in anyway I can. In return for being reviewed, I want my blog to be reviewed as well since I just only started recently on this blog. I will also provide backlinks to those blogs as well f the bloggers are willing to submit reviews to my site and also provide backlinks to it. I have already posted several links to sites I visited frequently and will probably add more in the future.

Had to update links

I had to update links to the blog since it still does need plenty of work. The ads are now located on the bottom instead so I don't want to bother moving them around. Anime, manga, and shopping are common interests that I do, especially when looking at the latest release or looking for bargains. I'll continue to update them if I find anything new.

Just got Omega Dawn

I just got the Omega Dawn booster pack from someone who wanted to trade for Super Stardust HD. I've met him on the PS3Forums, but I make sure that I get rid of my credit card information and the whereabouts of my address. People got ripped off for their credit card bills being overcharged from people who will take advantage of you. The trade was a done deal and it does indeed work. There does not seem to be many servers from Sony that support the booster pack, but at least there are some people playing on them. That one new map Omega Factory is completely nighttime and looks even harder to fight around the night sky. It would be better to fight as a ground trooper since warhawks seem to have a disadvantage around there. It was fun to play and a new place to explore. Hopefully there will be more content in the future.

Updated links to GPT and scams

I've updated the links to the GPT and scams tabs due to finding out about several people from Bux.to not getting paid for their service. Smorty is paying me for writing reviews on several sites. SWATcash is starting to pick up some steam and the rewards seem to be getting better. I'll continue to update as soon as I get paid from these sites.

No Devil May Cry 4 for me

Can't pick up Devil May Cry 4 due to my credit card being under surveillance by my credit union. The financial institution suspected that my card was being used by someone else to make unwanted purchases. This has happened before back in 2000 when someone was using my card in Hungary. My only option was cash, but that would make me look like a target to others who want to rob me blind. I'll just save my money anyway for building my own PC, as my other one is just getting slow plus it is almost 4 years old.

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Going to pick up Devil May Cry 4 tomorrow

I'm going to be picking up Devil May Cry tomorrow since many people seem to be enjoying the game. Most game review sites tend to slightly favor the PS3 version over the 360 version, but Devil May Cry first appeared at E3 as a PS3 exclusive. People don't seem to like the repetition and annoying puzzles, but it is not a God of War clone. It has to be better than Heavenly Sword which is too short. Many people enjoy the game anyway as it is and it is no big deal if it is repetitious.

Links to GPT tab are updated

I've updated the tab for GPT so people can check out those sites and if they wish to sign up for them. SWATcash and Smorty are good choices to making money online and they do indeed work. You might end up liking them. Be sure to check out http://www.swatmoney.com/ on information about SWATcash. Their offers are very good, but the choices seem somewhat limited.

Starting out on new blog

I'm starting out on my blog after Wordpress decided that I can't monetize my blog, so I'll move over here to start my new blog. Hopefully, it'll grow on and hope to get some referrals to my GPT sites. The link to my old blog is still there and I'll transfer the links to here.
